Diverse Power Foundation, Inc. to fund educational grants and scholarships

Diverse Power Foundation, Inc. funds educational grants and scholarships. Diverse Power Foundation, Inc. will begin its second year of accepting applications for scholarships and grants from schools in the Diverse Power service area.

Scholarships
Education scholarships shall be awarded to qualified and selected high school seniors graduating from accredited schools that serve students living in the Diverse Power service area. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional scholastic skills, exemplary personal character and civic responsibility. Diverse Power Foundation scholarship applications will be made available to all qualified schools through their school counselors/administrators, through the DPFI Web site (www.dpfi.org) or through the Diverse Power Web site (www.diversepower.com). Applications shall be completed and returned to:

(1) Applications will be processed on the following schedule:
(2) Application will be available on January 5, 2008.
(3) Application must be submitted to Diverse Power Foundation by March 14, 2008.
(4) The Scholarship Committee shall announce its selections on May 1, 2008.
(5) The Scholarship Committee may request from applicants additional information that the Committee deems helpful in the selection process.

Grants
The Diverse Power Foundation Educational Fund supports educational projects in grades 1-12 in Diverse Power service area schools. Preference is given to projects that significantly enhance the educational experience of students. The Foundation encourages grant requests for:

(1) Projects that show innovation in education,
(2) Projects that support the curriculum through creative application of teaching skills,
(3) Projects that supplement the curriculum by providing students with key life skills,
(4) Specialized equipment/supplies to support classroom-learning activities.

All grant requests must be approved by the school’s Principal or Headmaster and submitted to the Foundation through the Superintendent’s office. In addition to the applicant’s name, position, school, and contact information, the grant request letter should include the following:

(1) An overview of the project and expected benefits,
(2) A brief project plan and timeline (if applicable),
(3) Expected budget for the project.

Grants are awarded for one school year and will be announced on June 27, 2008. Grant awards will be announced through the Superintendent’s office. To ensure inclusion in the selection process, grant applications should be received by May 2, 2008. The Foundation requests a follow-up letter confirming the implementation of the project and detailing any applicable measures of success. Submit requests to:
